Align - Right (with a Leader Character)

Code Used: [fr;p~".]

Keyboard Shortcut:  Alt + F7

What does it do?

It forces the word, or group of characters, immediately following the command to the right hand margin, and adds a "Leader Character".  This command is cancelled by a space or carriage return.  It is not necessary to have any characters before the command.

Where would it be used?

To create a Table of Contents, or to lay out a menu or price list such as shown below.

Product Description ............. Price
Duxbury for Windows ........... $595.00
Duxbury for DOS ............... $495.00

Usage in DBT:

Product Description[fr;p~".]Price
Duxbury for Windows
[fr;p~".]$595.00
Duxbury for DOS
[fr;p~".]$495.00

Produces in Braille:

Product descrip;n """""" price
duxbury = w9d[s """"" 4#eie1jj
duxbury = dos """"""" 4#die1jj

For the more technical:

Note that where dot 5 appears as the "Leader Character", a space appears at each end.  If you require dot 5 instead of the space, then replace the p (partial fill) in the command with an f (full fill)

The " and . are used to denote which character is to be used.as the "Leader Character" first in Braille, and second optionally in print.  In the above example, the " will produce dot 5 in Braille, while the . will produce a period or full stop when viewing the text in Duxbury and when printing.  (When not in Code View)

DBT's Global: Shortcut Preferences dialog provides a way to customize what leader dot characters are used in both print and braille when Alt + F7 is pressed.

NOTES:

You need not have the print character as shown above.  You can simply use [fr;p~"].  In this case, the appearance of the leader dots in the print document will be odd, but the braille will not be affected.

Leader Dots:

Use " (Double Quote) for Dot 5

Use 3 (Number 3) for Dots 2 & 5

Use - (Hyphen) for dots 3 & 6

Please see the Embosser Character Table for full list of possible characters.
