After activation as a client of another computer on your network, this screen gives you the current status of your activation.
The key information is whether your remote activation server is responding to calls (normal) or not responding (error). If the Welcome screen says, "…your program is activated by connection to a shared activation server…but that server is not responding," then your program will not run in production mode until you fix the problem.
Your server computer may need to be restarted, or possibly only the slsService running on your server may need to be restarted. If you are not familiar with computer services, you should get help from your LAN administrator.
If the screen says only, "Currently your program is activated by connection to a shared activation server on your LAN," then your program is activated normally. You can also use the Activation Wizard to collect diagnostic information or to perform other tasks, including:
Activation allows the full normal functioning of your Duxbury software. Some Duxbury programs have an evaluation period. Others have a demonstration mode. To go beyond those uses, you need to activate the software. To activate, you submit your license number to Duxbury Systems and you receive an activation code that your program uses from then on. Normally you do this in just a few steps. If you select activation over the Internet, it is all automatic.
Your activation code will only work on one computer. Your license may allow activation on more than one computer. If so, you need a different activation code for each computer. That is, you need to run the Activation Wizard on each computer.
Activation lasts as long as the software is installed on the computer. You can transfer your activation from one computer to another by deactivating on the old machine and activating on the new one.
