Facing a Blank Screen When You Start NimPro

So, you launch NimPro, and get a largely blank screen.

To do useful work, you need to load a NIMAS fileset. NimPro is not an editor for creating a document from scratch.

Use File, Open (Control-O) to open a file.

If you do not know what a NIMAS file is, please refer to the Vital Background Information.

NimPro Screen Layout

Once you load a NIMAS file, the NimPro screen displays information in three columns:

• The left column, the Navigation Pane, lists the page numbers or document sections (white),
• The narrow middle column, the Style Map, identifies the style of each element in the text (slate colored),
• The right column, the Document or Text View, shows the contents of the book, per the pages or sections selected in the Navigation Pane.
