The Menus

The DBT Menu Bar follows Windows conventions, and displays eight options, each of which, when selected, brings up a further menu.

Note that each menu option name contains an underlined letter which indicates a . You can access any of the menus shown here, from almost any point within DBT by holding down the (Left) Alt key and pressing the appropriate letter. For example, Alt + f brings up the File Menu.

You may make a selection from the Table of Contents on the left, or from the links below. (The links below also note the shortcut letter.)

As you progress through the menus, you may notice that some items are grayed out and inactive. There is logic behind this. For example, unless you have a file open, the items in the Edit menu are not available. This is a common feature in many computer applications.

Important Note:

In many instances, DBT uses a standard Windows dialog box for such functions as, File Open, File Save, and so on. The benefit is that such dialogs work in much the same way in the vast majority of applications on your system.

You may find that your own system does not display a dialog exactly as shown in these Help topics. The appearance may vary depending on which version of the operating system you are running. Additionally, these dialogs are subject to any customization you, yourself, may have done. Nevertheless, you will find these dialogs do function as intended.
